LOCAL PRO SPORTS TEAMS

The Hershey Harrisburg region is home to three professional sports teams.

  • The Hershey Bears® are the top farm team of the NHL's Washington Capitals and are the oldest continually-running franchise in professional hockey. They play at the Giant CenterSM in Hershey, PA.
  • The Harrisburg Senators were founded in 1987 and are the AA affiliate of Major League Baseball’s Washington Nationals. They play at FNB Field on City Island in Harrisburg, PA.
  • The Harrisburg Heat are the region’s professional indoor soccer team operating within the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL). Due to the team's upcoming relocation from the PA Farm Show Complex to Hersheypark Arena, the team will temporarily move from M1 to M2 for the 2026 season because the availability of the venue will only work with the M2 schedule.

BIG 26 BASEBALL CLASSIC

The Big 26 Baseball Classic® is an annual summer event featuring all-star high school players from Pennsylvania and Maryland that are entering their junior and senior years. Rosters for each state are built through an annual tryout process in the Spring. College coaches are invited to all player activities including tryouts, final roster combine, and the 3-game series. The event also features a Buddy Program, where individuals ages 5 - 21 with special needs are connected with Big 26 players for activities throughout the event. The Big 26 Baseball Classic® is owned and operated by the Hershey Harrisburg Sports & Events Authority.
